Steak Fry

Every year, Gram and Gramps Polman treat the family to a steak fry... We all gather together to spend some time with one another, draw names for Christmas and eat great food made by Gram and Gramps... Here are the few snapshots that I got before my camera batteries went dead, once again...

St. Ann's Carnival

We went to the St. Ann's Carnival again this year with the kids and they had a blast playing all the games and riding the train. They got a lot of fun trinkets and ate hot dogs and chips for lunch... What a treat and a fun family day...

First day of 4 day preschool!

Brody started preschool for the year today. Last year was twice a week in the mornings and this year he has jumped into four days a week in the afternoons (no more naps, at least on those days...) Due to our increasing enrollment, (yay!) they had to add a teacher, so he doesn't have the same one that he had last year.... Mrs. Val seems really nice and Brody will take to her just as well as he did with Mrs. Heidi!! The other new part was that instead of riding the bus to school, he gets to ride the bus home!

Brotherly love...

So, both of the boys LOVE Bella and talk to her and kiss her all the time, but Beau is just over the moon about her. Every time he walks by her he has to talk to her, hug her, kiss her, lay by her and so on... As I walked into the living room, he was laying in her lap, talking to her while she was patting on his belly. It was the most adorable moment! I tried to capture it, but the picture doesn't even come close to the moment!!

Funny story...

So, we had Brody's meet the teacher night last night and of course, my batteries went dead in my camera. First day of school today, so I will be armed and ready for that... But, to share a funny story from last night....

Background info: Brody has decided that he wants to sleep with no underwear on at night, under his jammies. Fine with me, not worth any huge fight - so he sleeps "mando" as he calls it. Well yesterday morning he got up in a huge rush to play and grabbed his own clothes to wear and brought them upstairs. He forgot underwear and didn't want to go and get any, so he said that he was just going to go "mando" under his shorts. Okay, whatever - I've got 12 other daycare kids that I am wrestling with at this time...

Skip forward to Meet the teacher night (an this entire thing has slipped my mind...): He is doing all the activities that they have for the kids and then decides to go and play with the blocks. He walks by the teacher's assistant that he had in class last year and says "Hey Becky, I not wearing any underwear right now." and just keeps on walking.... Her reply "well, thanks for sharing Brody, that might be a little too much info." Luckily she is weel experienced with kids and we both just laughed, even though I think that I was a little red in the face! Ahhh, gotta love my kids!

Bathtime for everyone!

So, I just had to do it! Josh is gone this week and all the kids were in need of baths, so I took that easy route and threw them all in the tub together. Bella only went under twice, glad I was close by! :) I don't know who had more fun... the boys both jockeying for positions to play with her or Bella splashing them both like crazy! (which totally went against the no splashing water outside of the tub rule!) :)

Labor Day Fun!

So, while we were growing up, Mikey and Kathy always had the Labor Day celebration at their house, EVERY year! This year, I decided to reclaim that tradition, since we bought their house. Josh and I got ready and had everyone over for one last shindig before the school year began. Potluck style, with hamburgers, hotdogs and corn on the grill! YUMMY!! Food, games and fun - it was a great day!

Bella's first big girl bath...

Bella is finally stable enough that we could put her in the big bathtub. We don't take a lot of baths thanks to our sauna downstairs... (much easier with 3!) So, I fiugred that I would ease her into it with an alone bath before the boys jump in with her... So, here's my big girl!

Skate Park

So, Sebeka just finished a new skate park. The cousins have been there a lot, but I finally made it over there with the boys! They LOVE it!! Brody wants to go daily and they have a blast whenever we go...

Our crops!

This is the second year that Josh and I have attempted a garden. Last year we got nothing to grow - nothing! This year, we have fought with the weeds and won, somewhat! Our peas produced a bit before they died out and we have a few ears of corn that the deer haven't eaten... Our tomatoes and carrots are looking fabulous though and it is so much fun to actually be able to pick and eat something that we have grown on our own! Hopefully we keep getting better and better at this!

Twin Cities Vacation...

We took the weekend and had some fun in the cities before I start back to work and Brody heads back to school. I have been working on taking Josh to the MN state fair since we moved here and we did it! We spent Thursday night at Rusty's house, Friday at the fair and then started our two night stay at the hotel. Then on Saturday morning we went to the Children's Museum and then headed to my dad's state baseball tournaments for the 35 and older team that he plays for, The Relics. Sunday was spent in the hotel pool and at another of my dad's games. We had a great time and I think that we are all still trying to recover from the late nights and off schedule weekend!
