Triathlon

Brody and Beau were both able to compete this year in the triathlon. Beau partnered up with his cousin Teagen, with Teagen doing the swimming, Beau doing the biking and Teagen doing the running. When I told Beau this afternoon that he had to bike a little past his Auntie Ronnie's house he started to get very nervous, due to the fact that they live on a bit of a hill. But, he came through like a champ and was the first one back from their group. While the team events don't get medals, they did a great job and both seemed to have fun doing it!

Brody decided to do the triathlon on his own this year and I couldn't be prouder of him. He ended up with a first place finish and tried his best the whole time. While I was worried that he was going to struggle, he proved me wrong and took off in a sprint for the run portion of the race, which came after the 50 yard swim and the 1/2 mile bike.

The kids and all their cousins, along with all the other kids that participated showed great competitive spirit but were supportive of each other at the same time. I loved to watch the kids of all ages compete and try their best... They never gave up even when it was tough!!

Red Eye River Days Parades

The kids went through both of the parades this weekend. First the kiddie parade and then the boys were in the main parade for the Cub Scouts. It was a lot of fun for them, but they enjoyed getting lots of candy after they were done in the parades the best! :)

Kiddie Games

I started my Saturday morning doing the Red Eye River Days 5K and my kids started their day at the Kiddie Games. It was a morning of competition that involved the kids AND adults. It was a lot of fun and the kids tried their best and while their was a little whining about not winning, there were still a lot of smiles! Braxton got in on the act this year and tried his hand at a few of the races. He had a few problems with the obstacle course and Auntie Roxie had to come to the rescue while mommy was giggling and taking pictures...
