Track and Field Day

Brody had his first track and field day at school yesterday! He ran the "50" (the 50 yard dash), the "20 hundred" (the 200 yard dash) and did the long jump. My speedy little boy (obviously he doesn't take after his father OR his mother) got 1st in the 50 yard dash and 2nd in the 200 yard dash... So proud of him! He was pretty excited when he got home to tell me about it. So glad Cindy was able to be there and take some pictures for me!

Field Trip!

I was lucky enough to get to go with Brody this year on his field trip to the Rocking K Ranch. The kindergarteners learned about the machines that make a cattle ranch run, saw the cows and their calves, hung out with some bulls, learned about horses and ate a "ranch hand" lunch! The trip got cut short with the rain but the kids had a fabulous time while they were there!

He's doing it!!

Today was a big day at our house!! Beau learned to ride his bike with no training wheels... Similar to Brody, who one day just hopped on his cousins bike and took off, Beau decided that he was going to try riding a bike with no training wheels. He came into the house with a skinned up knee and when I asked him what happened he told me that he tried to ride Brody's bike and felled down. I told him that I would come out and help him after naps. So, when he got up, we headed outside and sure enough... I followed him for only 2 times and off he went on his own!! None of this chasing kids down for days on end - my boys take off right away!! I don't know who had a bigger grin on their face, me or Beau! What a day for him...

GOALLLLLL!

I love that babies can sleep with such abandon!!! This is Braxton's favorite pose when he is sleeping...

Visiting Great Grandpa...

We headed over to see my Grandpa yesterday... He fell and broke his hip right before Easter and he is at the nursing home working on his therapy. We are hopeful that he will be home soon, but until then I try to get over there as much as possible! He was in great spirits on Sunday and telling the staff that Braxton takes after him in his cuteness! Don't you agree?? :)

Preschool Program

Beau had his end of the year preschool program last night! They thrilled us with songs, showed us a photo slideshow and handed out certificates. He had kind of a wild ride this year with his behavior and we will definitely be working on that for next year when he gets to go to school 4 days a week! A few of the teachers at Sebeka were amazed when they found out that his own mother suspended him from school for being naughty... They don't know how serious I am about my kids not being "that kid" in their classroom! :)

Braxton Brian

I can't believe how big my baby is getting already! He has gained over 2 pounds already and is really filling out, I mean check out the chub-cheeks! He has the most beautiful blue eyes... I keep waiting for them to change, but they are REALLY blue, so we'll see what happens there! :)

Circus Pages!

It's that time of year again - we got to see the inlaws during their brief stop over in Minnesota! For those of you that don't know, Josh's brother and sister in law head up a traveling circus. While they are based in Florida, they spend 10 months out of the year traveling the midwest putting on shows. They have 2 wonderful kids and we get to see them while they are in Minnesota each year. LOVE IT!! My kids spend 2 days of fun playing with their cousins, chasing around the circus, riding ponies and elephants and we get quality adult time with Jimmy and Yolanda (can you say Keg 'n' Cork fellow Bemidji Beavers???) This year Josh's dad and stepmom were able to join us also and it made for some great family time!! Although the sounds of the circus still run through our house (no thanks to Yolanda for the horns and swords that she sent home with my kids) we are sad that we have to wait a whole 'nother year until we get to spend time with them again... Here are a few of our memories!!

High Flying Adventures

Brody got a kite for his birthday and the weather has been just right for kite flying! So, after we hit the Legion for tacos, we headed outside for some high flying fun... The kids loved it and now Josh is saying that we need a few more kites - I think that one is perfect, then we don't both have to be running all over trying to keep them up in the air! :)

Big number 6!!

Brody turned 6 this last week and he was VERY excited for all the fun that went along with it. His teacher told me that it is all that he talked about for the whole week before! We had his family party this past Sunday and even though it was cold and rainy the kids had a great time and Brody got to have his "shooting gallery" like he wanted to.
