Our second ECFE class was a field trip to a dairy farm! The kids thought that it was amazing to see the milkers, bulk tanks and cows, cows and more cows!! We even walked up just in time to see a calf being born... I don't think that the kids got there in time to actually see him pull it out, but they got to see it laying down and the mama licking it. I was pretty excited about that part as well! :) What a great field trip!

Braxton's first day of school!
Braxton had his first day of school this morning and it was a doozy! :) He was super excited to go and didn't have a problem with me leaving but I guess about halfway through he started missing his mama and his stubborn side came out. Hopefully the next go round ends up better... On the bright side, he is still super excited to go back to school!

Meet the Teacher!
Braxton is ecstatic to be going to preschool this year... It has been agonizing for him to wait for preschool to start since the rest of his siblings have been going for a couple of weeks already. He finally got to "meet" his teacher last night. Since he already knows her really well he has already been running around telling everyone that his teacher is Miss Heidi every chance that he gets... 4 more days and he gets to go to school! :)
1st Kindergarten Bus Ride
Bella FINALLY got to ride the bus to school this year, just this week... I had to bring her to her first day of kindergarten and then the next day she went our driveway was flooded so I gave them a ride again. So, she was pretty excited to ride the bus on Monday, even if it was alone since the boys had to ride their bikes! :)

Tooth Fairy Time!
Bella lost her first tooth this morning... It was hanging on by a thread and we showed it to Uncle Quentin when we went for lunch and he helped her take care of it! I guess the tooth fairy will be coming to our house tonight! No tears and big smiles when he handed her the tooth...
Backyard Buddies
These two have been hanging around our backyard for the past couple of days... They are adorable and I was quite surprised to see them when I glanced out my kitchen window the other day. The kids are fascinated!

Rainy Days
Whenever we get the littlest bit of rain our ditch immediately floods. This morning we had a HUGE storm - lots of lightning, thunder, tornado warnings and everything. That meant a lot of rain and it came fast... Our yard was a little amusing to look at when the sun came up, definitely more water then I have seen in our yard so far! The first question the kids had was, "how are we going to get to the end of the driveway to get on the bus?" Good question! Good thing mom was heading out for an appointment this morning and I dropped them off at school.
Finally home!
The kids hopped off the bus after school and were welcomed home like heroes from the war... It was amusing to me the way that Trevin, Emma, Zoe and Braxton screamed their names when they saw the bus and went running for the end of the driveway. Love that they love each other so much!!

1st Day of School!
Labor Day
Every Labor Day we have family over to our house for an end of the year celebration... A few hours to spend together, enjoying the last day of summer before school starts and then every one is off to their own places to finish the school preparations! As usual it was a blast hanging out together, eating, playing bags and just spending time with each other! We even got my Grandpa Polman in on a game of bags... Awesome!
Fun with Friends!
We took off on an adventure with the Heino's and the Kiser's this weekend and biked the Heartland Trail from Park Rapids to Dorset. 10 kids, 5 adults (Josh was working) and 6.3 miles each way. We had a few spills, tears and lots of laughs through out the trip. Once we were there we hit the mini golf course and of course Companero's for supper... Josh was able to join us for supper at least! The bike back after a big meal of Mexican was a little tougher but it was still doable! Good times to end the summer!
