Pumpkin Patch

Today was the first day of our MEA 4 day weekend break...  We decided to head over to Pelican Rapids and spend the day at a pumpkin patch over there that we haven't ever been to.  So we spent the day with some friends and it was a lot of fun - definitely worth the drive!

Real Men Sing

As a 7th grader, Brody gets to participate in Jr. High Choir.  One of their performances comes after a day of participating in sessions with a variety of boys and men from area schools, Bemidji State Students, Staples Area Men's Choir and more.  It is a fabulous experience that Brody "mostly" enjoyed - his main complaint?  It was a lot of repeating the same songs over and over again mom...  Yep - that would be how a one day practice/performance works! :)  It was so fun to watch all of them perform...  He has quite a few cousins that participate as well, so it was great to be able to watch them all...

Fall Camping

I'm usually too busy chilling to bust out my camera when we are camping, but I did capture a few pictures from this past weekend of fall camping.  Our group were the only ones at the campground and we had the fire going the whole weekend, but it was still a lot of fun to hang out with friends and do one last camping trip!

Braxton's FIre Station Field Trip

I was able to go with Braxton on his field trip to the fire hall this past Friday.  He was so excited and ready to check everything out.  It was a beautiful fall day to walk over from the school and shoot the fire hose!

Beau's Football Year!

5th grade means the beginning of football for Beau!  They practice twice a week, get to play at halftime of two of the varsity games and got one scrimmage in against New York Mills.  Beau has been enjoying it a lot and doesn't even mind the practices! :)  (He isn't super excited about missing out on TV and IPOD time when we have to go from his practices to another event though.)

Fall Festival Obstacle Course

The great part of being a sub is that I can randomly join in the fun that the kids have at school.  During Fall Festival week, Bella was chosen to be part of the obstacle course that the 3-6 graders were doing.  She asked if I could come and since I wasn't subbing, I was able to make it.  She did a great job being a "turtle" and took a huge lead right away. (I found out later that she had been practicing at home.) Her and her partner ended up coming in 2nd...

Brody's Football

Jr. High - big leagues now!!  Brody stepped up to the next level of football and started Jr. High football this year.  That means daily practices, that started before school started, and weekly games.  He is loving it so far and it definitely keeps us all busy!  His team is 4-0 right now, with one more game to go in the season.  Fingers crossed that they go undefeated and earn that pizza party they have been promised! :)
