Our South Dakota journey continued on day 3 when we packed up our campers and headed out on our way to Custer, South Dakota. On the way we pit stopped in Wall, South Dakota, where we ate lunch and toured Wall Drug. It was a cute stopping point that our kids enjoyed very much... The highlight of the trip there was the T-Rex that "attempted" to eat every 12 minutes (which freaked Braxton out immensely), the painted lady that all of my kids sat by and the mining experience where they got to go into a little room and "mine" for stones. All in all it was a good pit stop!
And our vacation begins!! Josh and I worked with Reg and Laura to plan a fun family camping vacation to South Dakota... We began our adventure in Pierre, South Dakota where we stayed at Farm Island Recreational Park, which had a beautiful biking path that included lots of geocaches, fishing, and swimming. We all agreed that it was a fabulous campground and would love to go back. Laura and I took the older boys on a super adventurous bike ride that led us through the town of Pierre, onto a muddy path, through a deep ravine with screaming children... but we made it back in one piece with a fun story to tell! Reg and I busted open a bottle of wine that we brought home from a winery that we visited in St. Louis with Rusty and enjoyed every sip of the smallest bottle of wine I have ever bought! Cheers! :)
Sebeka put in a new 9 hole disc golf course a year or so ago and we haven't made time to get over there and try it out. Yesterday was the day! We grabbed a couple of discs and headed off. It was a lot of fun, although we did lose the youngest three about halfway through. Thank God for the playground in the middle of the course! :)
The kids attended bible school this past week with their cousins. They had a blast and came home every night singing the new songs that they learned - I LOVE bible school songs! They are so upbeat and fun to sing!! Here is a few pictures that kind of turned out from their program that night...
We attempted a bike ride at Itasca State Park the other day... It got a little waylaid when Josh's bike tire popped, the kids were super whiny and we headed back to the car. Before we came home though we stopped at the playground for some snacks a little playground fun! I had to take a few pics of my monkeys! I'm thinking a wall collage might be in order! :)
Josh and I have friends and family from MN to AZ and in between. Hopefully this is a wonderful way to keep everyone up to date with the Chaos that is the Connor's!
