Beau is playing on the 10 and under Little League team this year. He also has his cousins Trevin and Parker on the team as well, which makes it fun for all of us to be able to watch more than just our own kids all the time. That is a big thing when we are all so busy running around with our own kids' schedules. They haven't won a game yet, but it is fun to see how they have improved since last year.

2017 Sebeka Kids Triathlon
Once again our kids participated in the triathlon over Red Eye River Days. Bella and Beau decided to do all three sections on their own, while Brody participated in the team event with his cousins Teagan and Elyse (he did the biking section). It amazes me how hard they all work and what a great job that they do. It is so much fun to watch! Beau took first place in his age group and Bella took second, behind her cousin Emma, in her age group. Can't wait to see all four of my kids participate next year!

Red Eye River Days Parade
The weather was a bit stormy on Saturday for Red Eye River Days, but we were able to attend all of the events that we wanted to. The Kiddie Parade was a bit sparse this year, but we still had a few brave souls venture out and join in the fun. After the Kiddie Parade, my kids went quickly to their other areas and joined in for the regular parade. Josh drove one of the fire department vehicles and Bella and Beau got to ride with him, Braxton hopped on the UNC Wrestling float and Brody marched with the Sebeka Band for the first time in his band career. Crazy that he is old enough to jump in that mix!!
Firemen's Dodgeball
A new event for Red Eye River Days this year was firemen's dodgeball. My brother and brother-in-laws have all been on the department for quite a while and Josh just joined this year, so they were all a part of the event. Since only one neighboring town joined in the fun, Sebeka had just about enough guys to put together 3 teams. Since my brother Rusty was home for the weekend, they asked him to suit up and make the teams more even. Since Grandpa joined in the fun and came to watch, we took the opportunity to get a picture of him with all of his grandsons and grandson-in-laws that are a part of the family tradition! Dodgeball was super fun to watch as well and boy were the boys hot, sweaty and tired when they were done!
Little Miss Sebeka
Bella spent Friday night giving up her Little Miss Sebeka 1st Princess crown. It has been a fun year for her of parades, pageants, dance practices and so much more. This year was a jungle theme and her and her daddy worked hard to make her toucan costume for the dance portion of the pageant. It turned out awesome!! Her friend Claire took over as the new Little Miss Sebeka and Bella was so happy for her!
