Brody's Friend Party!

Brody had a lot of thinking to do to figure out what he wanted to do with his friend party this year. He was torn between bowling, Chuck-E-Cheese, biking the Heartland Trail, camping or roller skating... Finally he narrowed it down and decided that he wanted to go roller skating, which meant mom had to get her butt in gear and do some major party planning quick. Okay, so I just had to get the invitations out. Makes it a little trickier when the roller rink is only open on Fridays and the next few weeks were already booked up! :) So, I threw the invites in Brody's backpack and went grocery shopping. The boys (and Elyse) were AWESOME and they all had a great time. Most of them had not been skating before so it made it a little more entertaining, but they were all great sports about it and tried their best! We took the rest of the kids with us as well, in a separate vehicle thank God because while Braxton did a great job skating and trying to keep up with the big boys, he did have a major meltdown which led to an early retreat for Josh and the rest of our crew. What a night!

Space Derby!

Tonight was our space derby for Cub Scouts. It's usually a long night of broken shuttles, fixing shuttles and tears! This year we decided to make it across the board that no shuttles get fixed, if it's broken, you are done. This made for a few sad boys that had their shuttles break, but a happier group of parents that didn't have to be there for hours and hours!! Brody and Beau both made it through the whole time with no broken shuttles and both ended up with 3rd place finishes. They had fun and are ready for the next challenge - raingutter regatta!

Someone's in the kitchen with Raina...

Josh was trying to go for a jog the other day and unfortunately Braxton just isn't speedy enough to keep up, even with his bike. So, Josh sent him in the house to "help" mom cook supper. He actually did a great job mixing up the topping for supper! :) He is so inquisitive and always wants to be up on the counter while I am cooking, checking everything out.

Science Experiments!

This week Braxton and I have been on our own in the mornings since my daycare baby is with his grandparents for the week. I busted out the baking soda and colored up some vinegar for a fun science experiment that kept him busy for a long time!! He loved it and we both had fun playing for a while...

Bowling for Braxton!

Since Braxton's birthday was actually on a weekend he got to pick an event for our family to go and do. He was very excited to go bowling!! We invited all the cousins to go with us and the Kiser's didn't have any plans so they were able to join us. We all had a great time...

Whistle Stop B & B

I got Josh a night at a bed and breakfast for his Christmas present, so this weekend was the first weekend that we were able to get away and have some time to ourselves!! We tried a new b & b in New York Mills and we loved it... They have train cars that are turned into rooms and I thought ours was so cute! We left and had supper out, bowled without kids and just spent some quality time together... It was great!!
