1st Camping Weekend of 2017

We had a few open weekends in May, so we decided to fill one up with our first camping adventure of the season!  We headed out to a new campground that we hadn't tried before and had some family fun.  We rarely go out on our own, usually we have a few of my sisters and brothers and their families in tow with us, but it was an experience to just spend some time on our own together.

Bella quickly made friends with the granddaughter of our neighbors and Lily hung out with us for most of the weekend.  The kids played a lot of game, did a bunch of fishing (not catching) and we just chilled together as a family!  Yay for camping!

Bella's Field Trip

So, this year I have been blessed to be able to go on a bunch of field trips with my kiddos!  Brody's 6th grade trip, I got to go bowling with the school patrol (which included Brody) when I was subbing for the leader one day and now I got to go with Bella to her 2nd grade field trip to the Confidence Learning Center.  It was a lot of fun and we were lucky that the rain held off all day long.

We learned about the life cycle of a northern pike, held a snake, watched a turtle eat dandelions, went down a super fun slide, took in the petting zoo and got to go on a glass bottom boat.  It was a blast and I love that I got to go with her on this adventure.

6th Grade Class Trip

A week and a half ago Brody got to go on his 6th grade class trip.  This is pretty excited as they have fundraised all year and this is the first trip that they do as an overnight trip.  I got to go along as a chaperone, which was a lot of fun.  He had a fun group to hang out with and the whole class did really well, without a lot of issues.

We were able to go to the Science Museum, Imax Theatre, the Capitol, Alexander Ramsey House, Sea Life at Mall of America, spend the night in a hotel and start again the next morning at the Cathedral, The Minnesota History Museum and the Mill Street Museum.  It was a lot of fun and extremely well put together and planned.  The kids had a great time!

When your aunt asks you to tie her shoes, you do it..  That is what you are there for!

Elementary Spring Program

Our elementary spring program fell on Brody's birthday this year, so after being up super late seeing their cousins on Thursday, we rushed back and had them ready for the concert!  It was Brody's last elementary concert and he had a duet with one of his friends to top it off.  He did a great job and is super excited about being in choir again next year when he is in 7th grade.  I love that he is so excited about music as well as sports.  I love that our small community allows them to have so many passions that they can pursue!

Bella and Braxton were part of the Barnyard Moosical and they were my adorable chicken and cow!  Beau's group has spent the second half of the year learning how to play the recorder, so they showed us all that they learned.  It was pretty awesome!

Earhart Cousins!

It's that time of year again!  Time for us to meet up with the kids' Auntie Yolanda and their cousins Jimmy and Kayla!  They love seeing them and we always have such great visits, even if they are only for a few hours.  It is one of the few times that I will pull my kids out of school no matter what is going on - family is too important to miss out on.  We had our traditional Pizza Ranch lunch, Jimmy tried to take a nap (where Braxton followed him to) and we got to see them put on their show.  It was a long, fun day and they slept hard on the way home that night!
