The weather was a bit stormy on Saturday for Red Eye River Days, but we were able to attend all of the events that we wanted to. The Kiddie Parade was a bit sparse this year, but we still had a few brave souls venture out and join in the fun. After the Kiddie Parade, my kids went quickly to their other areas and joined in for the regular parade. Josh drove one of the fire department vehicles and Bella and Beau got to ride with him, Braxton hopped on the UNC Wrestling float and Brody marched with the Sebeka Band for the first time in his band career. Crazy that he is old enough to jump in that mix!!

Firemen's Dodgeball
A new event for Red Eye River Days this year was firemen's dodgeball. My brother and brother-in-laws have all been on the department for quite a while and Josh just joined this year, so they were all a part of the event. Since only one neighboring town joined in the fun, Sebeka had just about enough guys to put together 3 teams. Since my brother Rusty was home for the weekend, they asked him to suit up and make the teams more even. Since Grandpa joined in the fun and came to watch, we took the opportunity to get a picture of him with all of his grandsons and grandson-in-laws that are a part of the family tradition! Dodgeball was super fun to watch as well and boy were the boys hot, sweaty and tired when they were done!
Little Miss Sebeka
Bella spent Friday night giving up her Little Miss Sebeka 1st Princess crown. It has been a fun year for her of parades, pageants, dance practices and so much more. This year was a jungle theme and her and her daddy worked hard to make her toucan costume for the dance portion of the pageant. It turned out awesome!! Her friend Claire took over as the new Little Miss Sebeka and Bella was so happy for her!
Camp Emmaus - Round 1 (Beau)
Beau was the first one to get to spend a week at Camp Emmaus this summer. He had a great time and I am pretty sure that he didn't want to come home. He is already talking about how he wants to be a counselor when he gets older... :) That might be until he finds out that they don't get much screen time when they are counselors!
His counselor is originally from Sebeka, so that was a fun connection for him to have. They had one really stormy night where they ended up sleeping on the floor in the basement, but other than that they had pretty nice weather.
One last hurrah!
Bella ended her pageant season with one last parade in Wadena. It was a beautiful night for a parade and she has enjoyed being Little Miss Sebeka, 1st princess so much!
Braxton's T-Ball
Oh it is so amazing to watch Brody play 12 and under Little League and then head over to Braxton's T-Ball games. The difference is amazing and shows me how far they can come! He loves to play and has been doing a great job this year paying attention and following directions.
Game Night!
These two are sharing game nights this year! Bella plays on Monday nights and Brody plays on Mondays and Wednesdays. Thank God for an understanding older brother that says "it's okay mom, you have got to see me play a lot. Just come to my games on Wednesdays." Love these kids!
