Lake adventures!

Our friends Jeff and Karie bought a lake home and generously invited the boys out to go fishing whenever they wanted to. Well, we took them up on it today and everyone had a blast... Their son Jason is Brody's hero and when we pulled up and Brody saw Jason I don't think that he could get out of the car fast enough! The boys had a great time, fishing, boating, tubing, fishing, swimming and more fishing! The fish on this lake are crazy and there are schools of them at the end of the dock that they boys just kept pulling up...

Bella even got in on the action and took a turn with her dad on the tube. She got her first dunking when dad was messing around and she slid face first into the water... She's tough though and didn't shed a tear as dad grabbed her by the shorts and hauled her back onto the tube!! Brody and Beau were a little nervous to go on and did well even with them both slipping off the tube too! Beau shed a few tears on the way back to the boat, but immediately declared "that fun mommy" when he hopped back onto the boat... All in all it was a great afternoon and they can't wait to go back again!

It's not often I drink beer....

I think that everyone has seen the Dos Equise commercials, but I don't think that anyone loves them quite as much as my brother Reggie does... Well, Josh and I were eating at Buffalo Wild Wings the other night and saw the cardboard cut out of "the most interesting man in the world" and just had to get it for him! So, one night when we knew he wasn't home we snuck into his house and dropped off our "present" for him! I only wish that I could have been there to see his face! :) It was obviously a hit though, because he has been Reg's ride along partner in his truck for the past week!

Wadena County Fair

Even though the fairgrounds got hit pretty hard during the tornado this summer, they pushed through and worked hard to still provide a fair this summer. We went out to support Wadena and have a little fun with all the family! The kids had a great time, including Bella, who we couldn't get off the rides!! Brody actually went on the Scrambler, which freaked his mom out a lot - I can't believe my baby is old enough to go on a "big kid" ride!!

New cement slab...

As most of you know, our summer has been filled with work, work and more work on getting our outdoor wood stove installed. Well, Saturday morning brought on the next phase of the project. Josh, my dad, 3 brothers and 2 cousins set to work pouring the concrete slab that the wood is going to set on... Yes, all this work for a place to put wood! :)

Bible School

Didn't get a lot of pictures from the bible school program since I actually dusted off the video camera and used that - but here are a few. Brody had a blast and sang every song with such great enthusiasm! Beau came to bible school for the first time this year and made it through the first two days, then he was done... Oh well, there is always next year! :)

Swimming Lessons

Brody started his first swimming lessons on Monday and he is having a great time! Auntie Ronnie is his teacher and he tries so much more when he is with her, rather then me! He has really taken off this summer and swims like crazy... Hopefully taking lessons will help him get a little farther then staying right where he can touch!

Lake trip!

We got to spend last weekend with my family at my sister and brother-in-law's lake lot... We had a great time spending the days in the sun and the nights by the fire! A little rain on Saturday, but for the most part a beautiful weekend!

Last T-Ball Game

Brody had his last week of T-Ball last week and they ended with a night game on Wednesday night... I think that he had a blast playing this year and he did great! I know that it was fun to me to watch him get better each week...

When we stopped at Sunnybrook, we crossed the bridge to check out the geese. Mom made the mistake of telling the boys to go chase the geese and then we would head out...

Right after this picture, Brody was running like mad BACK towards mom and I, with a goose chasing right after him. Guess we should not have told them to go and chase the geese! :)

The kids were unusually cooperative the other day and showing each other a lot of love! So, I grabbed the camera and took advantage of it... I also discovered that Bella can now say cheese with the best of them!

Our big summer project is getting our outdoor wood stove installed. Josh had the concrete pad where it is going to sit poured this past week. Brody turned out to be quite handy with a trowel and loved every minute of it! :)
