New York City - Day 1

After 12 years of being married, Josh and I decided that it was time for a little "us" time and went on a trip we have been planning for a few years. We headed out to New York City for a whole WEEK of just him and I. We weren't sure if we would be able to handle it! :) Turns out we did well on our own with no kids and hope to do it again sometime, preferably sooner than 12 years from now!

Day 1 brought us into New York City. After figuring out how to buy a metro card and then actually use it - we hopped on a bus and headed to our hotel. From the bus, we had to attempt the subway for the first time. We did become quite pro at the subway system, but the first round (done with luggage in tow) was quite a spectacle... It may have included Josh being stuck in the turnstiles with our huge suitcase and walking long distances once we got off, but we finally made it to our hotel. Never one to sit and relax for long, we dropped our stuff off at the hotel and I made Josh head back out with me! Our first stop was Grand Central Station, which also includes an Apple store, which was lucky for us, since Josh's phone went beserk as soon as we got into New York - Yikes! After a few hours wandering around (both in and out of the Apple store), we headed down to Times Square to check it out at night. It was amazing and quite a view - daytime at night for sure! The pictures do not do it justice at all!
